We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco in a private vehicle (for the group) and take you to the start of the hike.
Here is a brief list of the extras you can enjoy during this package:
Altitude Acclimatization: It is vital to arrive in Cusco at least 2–3 days in advance so your body can gradually adapt to the 3,400-meter altitude.
Suggested Diet: Drink plenty of hot coca tea, and avoid alcohol and heavy meals for the first 24 hours.
Warning Signs: If you experience a persistent headache or nausea, rest immediately and inform our support staff.
Passport and Visas: You must carry your original, valid physical passport. Copies or photographs are not accepted for official checks along the route.
Travel Insurance: It is mandatory to have insurance that covers mountain rescue, medical evacuation (airlift), and medical expenses related to adventure activities, for your peace of mind.
Traveler’s Manual: Click the button below to download the complete pre-trip preparation guide, including health tips and safety protocols from IntiPath Tours.
Layering System: The weather in the Andes changes rapidly; bring a down jacket, a windbreaker, quick-dry shirts, and thermal leggings.
Specialized Footwear: Wear waterproof trekking boots with good grip (Vibram soles are recommended) to prevent slipping on wet or rocky terrain.
Trekking Poles: We recommend using trekking poles with rubber tips to protect the Inca Trail surface and improve your stability.
Information Briefing: On the evening before the scheduled departure, we will meet at your hotel at 6:00 PM for a final briefing with your assigned guide.
Tips and Extras: Gratuities for the team of porters and cooks are voluntary and are given at the end of the expedition as a token of appreciation.
Detailed Route Map: Download the technical map here, featuring daily altitudes, campsites, lunch stops, and checkpoints.
Respect for Heritage: We practice responsible tourism; please do not leave trash on the route and stay on the trails marked by park rangers.
Everything You Need to Know: Access the comprehensive guide, which includes a full checklist to ensure you don’t forget anything when packing for your adventure.
